Why the Trail System
The Trial System is not at a Commercial scale Aquaponics system but it was designed for;
- Organizations or Individuals who want to experience whether Commercial Aquaponics farming would be suitable as a project without blowing out their funding / budget.
- Because of its small size, this system is perfect way to test the capacity of the staff/people to manage a Aquaponics farm in a location without overly committing.
- The system is ideal to use for research and development, to run trails of different varieties of vegetables, fruit, and fish to see their potential for growth due to the climate of the location.
This and all of Together We Can Grow system are design to be packed up like tent and moved to a location but still be study and durable.
The Trail system comprises of;
1 x 40,000 Litre, 1 x 20,000 Litre, and 1 x 5,000 Litre tanks
8 x 10m Long x 1m Wide x 300mm depth media grow beds.
4 x Solids collects 1m x 1m x 1m
1 x fines filter and distributor
1 large sump
The production capacity of this system is based on Tilapia and Lettuce
Our system are always designed with maximum fish capacity
The Trail system will;
12,300 Kg of Fish and 4,800 Kg of Lettuce over a 12 month
The revenue from this will be determined by your local market.
We have provided a production and revenue flow chart that (below) that you can view
It will show you the rotation method of fish from fingerlings to 500gm and the revenue generated from the production of fish and lettuce in our market place, but can be changed to yours.
Production & Revenue
Click the button below and it will download a very simple spread sheet that you can look at and even adjust to your market place.
The spread sheet will show you the production cycle of fish and vegetables and estimated revenue of this system.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Commercial Aquaponics profitability is base on the size of the system and its capacity to produce at its maximum levels.
As always the calculation used on this spreadsheet is base on growing Tilapia as the fish and lettuce for vegetable production and the rotation is based on our knowledge and experience and will differ from species and vegetable used in your system.
Using the Spreadsheet
You will see on line 12 and 13 to the top left, 2 boxes with “Predicted Sales Prices” as the heading, you can change this to suit your market place for the price per 1Kg of fish (Tilapia) and 1 Kg of lettuce (cos).
