Our
Community System

Our
The Community system was design with for exactly what the name suggested, it was design to be used in a community situation where the Organisation / Individual could operate the Greenhouses separate to the Fish House.
There is a number of possibility that this system could operate and the two we had in mind was;
The first possibility is all the fish production and revenue will be the sole responsibility of the project owner and the greenhouses could be leased / managed by a family group to provide a source of income / employment.
The second possibility is that the Organisation / Individual manages and operates the entire system for the benefit of the project, with all revenue being used for whatever propose they feel is right.
The Community system is a Fish in / Fish out growing method and the green house have the potential to use grow beds or Dutch buckets system.
The purpose of also separating the green house ensure that the production inside has no possible way to cross contaminate or cross pollinate.

If you want to know more, please contact us (see link at bottom of this page)
Click the button below and it will download a very simple spread sheet that you can look at and even adjust to your market place.
The spread sheet will show you the production cycle of fish and vegetables and estimated revenue of this system.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Commercial Aquaponics profitability is base on the size of the system and its capacity to produce at its maximum.
As always the calculation used on this spreadsheet is base on growing Tilapia as the fish and lettuce for vegetable production and the rotation is based on our knowledge and experience and will differ from species and vegetable used in your system.
Using the Spreadsheet
You will see on line 12 and 13 to the top left, 2 boxes with “Predicted Sales Prices” as the heading, you can change this to suit your market place for the price per 1Kg of fish (Tilapia) and 1 Kg of lettuce (cos).
